Seeing What Could Be Better
For Tamra Townsend, entrepreneurship began with a simple question: could there be a better way to help independent providers make infusion therapies more accessible to their patients?
In 2015, Tamra and Co-Founder Katie Ivy launched Infinity Infusion Solutions after recognizing the challenges physicians faced in providing therapies such as IVIG outside the hospital setting. What began as an effort to solve a problem in access and affordability has grown into more than a decade of work supporting independent infusion providers.
Today, Tamra remains driven by the same conviction that led her to take that first leap: when there is a problem worth solving, there can be a better way forward.
Leading With Conviction
Tamra believes leadership requires both conviction and connection. Challenging established ways of doing things can be difficult, particularly in a complex industry, but she believes staying close to the people experiencing a problem is what makes meaningful change possible.
Her advice to women considering entrepreneurship is to start with a problem worth solving, listen closely to the people affected by it, and trust what they learn.
“There will always be people who tell you why something won’t work, particularly when you are challenging an established industry. If you believe in the problem you are solving and can see a better way, be willing to take the risk.”
For Tamra, leadership also means creating an environment where people can do meaningful work while still having room for their families and lives outside of work.
Keeping Patients at the Center
Although patient access was not the only problem Tamra and Katie set out to address, it has always been at the heart of their work and how Tamra views the company's impact.
She has seen firsthand how helping providers overcome barriers to offering therapy can ultimately create new options for patients and their families. And for Tamra, growth is meaningful only when it contributes to that larger purpose.
